my rage playlist comments

i haven't had that much time to write a blog entry, ahh life and laziness. i'll get around to it soon. anyhow to wet your whistle before the next blog entry, here's my rationale for some of the songs i selected for the invade rage competition. it would be so sweet to sit on that couch and act all influential, pissing on about songs. it's what i do best.

suspicious minds

elvis doesn't get as much rage love as the beatles and the stones. i guess most musos view him as naff, but he's the king. this is his greatest moment, such an unbeatable powerful song.

into the groove

no rage playlist is complete without madonna, i assume she has had the most nights devoted to her and deservedly so. this is from her most watchable movie and is a great danceable late night sorta song.

raspberry beret

prince has a lot of memorable clips, but this one takes the cake for me. he is wearing the coolest outfit and he has some serious dance moves, even when he is basically static.

suedehead

the ghost of rage pasts strikes again. rage has got me into so many cool bands and i remember those smiths and cure specials of 93/94. this clip is sentimental and nice of morrissey floating around lost in indiana and finding james dean and himself. all those emo kids should look at the real deal.

jonathan david

this is a real personal fave, i like it because of the mythology surrounding belle and sebastian. stevie is shut out of the relationship between isabel and stuart. for a filmclip, it has a nice narrative arc and you feel for the characters. it's a hell of a song as well.
