unkind and unwise

the song listed above has a beautiful flowing melody that is most evocative of grant for me. it's such a gentle song. i hate it when people die and even though i didn't know grant mclennan personally. how could a go-betweens fan not feel a sense of loss? i saw them last year and they were special. grant even played a solo version of black mule to begin with. the albums would rank in my all time favourites and probably both spring hill fair and 16 lovers lane would rank as desert island discs. i used to like grant's songs more than robert, now i've sorta changed, i think it comes with age. being a music fan means many times you are destined for heartbreak and this is crap. i wish now i had gotten to sydney earlier this year to see the night with the go-betweens, it was a week before i arrived and i didn't think i would afford it. man! oh well here's hoping he's resting in a special place, where he's able to rest and achieve something else we don't get here.
